At 22, Taaramaë made himself a name on the slopes of the Grand Colombier, grabbing a victory at the Tour de l’Ain GC in 2009. Two years later, he finished eleventh overall of the Tour de France, and won a prestigious stage at the Vuelta a España atop Lagos de Somiedo. A fighter at heart, he was able to add a stage win in the Giro d’Italia in 2016, following yet another breakaway in the mountains. Joining in 2021, he aims to become one of the few riders who have won a stage in each of the three Grand Tours. The solid experience of the multiple Estonian champion is well established: 2021 will be his thirteenth professional season.
