Lorenzo Rota played a major role for a second day in a row in the Coppa Sabatini, a classic of almost 200 kilometers on a difficult circuit in Peccioli with the Muro de Peccioli leading to the end of each lap.
It was raining cats and dogs at the start, but it didn’t prevent the riders of the World Team to lead their leader, who finished second in the Giro della Toscana the day before, into a group of strong riders with two laps or 30 kilometer to go.
Five riders managed to escape at the entry of the final lap and Lorenzo Rota finished in the first chasing group at eleventh place.
