Pieter Vanspeybrouck was on his toes from the start of the seventh stage in the Tour de Pologne (2.UWT, 9-15/08) in Zabrze and joined a breakaway of five riders. The advantage of the group never increased and swang between 1 and 2 minutes during this 145,1 kilometer stage. With 20 kilometer to go in this final stage, Pieter Vanspeybrouck was caught by the peloton. The teams were preparing for a bunch sprint, but in the end they sprinted for 5th place at the end of the third local lap in Krakow. The peloton was in the picture of the sprint of the breakaway, in which Julius Van den Berg was the fastest. Andrea Pasqualon concluded this Tour de Pologne with an 18th place. Lorenzo Rota remained in 12th position in the general classification, with Quinten Hermans moving up one place too 17th.
