Andrea Pasqualon wants to rectify things

We did a good job in preparation for the sprint. For example with 3 kilometer to go, there was a crucial corner where I managed to bring my teammates to the front. Under the red flag I wanted to go next to the train of Quickstep to move forward with Adrien Petit and Alexander Kristoff. I waited but unfortunately they were blocked. We are of course disappointed about the result, but we’re already looking forward to rectify this in our next opportunity tomorrow.

Despite a rather hilly final containing the La Pineta and Cantoniera di Montobello climbs, the second stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico (2.UWT) finished in a bunch sprint this Tuesday. The early breakaway of five riders escaped just after the start in Camaiore and lasted until the intermediate sprint in Chiusdino with 20 kilometer to go.

In the final, the sprint train of Alexander Kristoff tried to move to launch the former European champion, but the small roads complicated the preparation in the final hectometers. Andrea Pasqualon was after 219 kilometer the first rider of the team to cross the finish line in fourteenth place.
